Goodreads asked Diane O'Toole:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Diane O'Toole They say that each of us has a book in us, and that's very true. However, actually getting down to write it isn't as easy as some of our best sellers and the world's greatest authors may have us believe.

What I would say is, never, ever give up. If writing is what your heart desires, then do it. Just start with a line or two, it doesn't matter how or what, just get it down and the words will flow from there. There will be times, though, when you hit a wall; it has happened to me very often. The thing to do is to start somewhere else in your book . . . another line or two and the words will begin to flow again.
