When I work on a book for ABDO, I am writing a book to fit into a larger series. Because these books have to work together to cover a broad topic, such as Ancient Civilizations or World War I, the editors and publisher are the ones who brainstorm the list of book topics. From there, I come up with the idea for an action packed first chapter and up to 8 more chapters complete with sidebars and other special features.
