Read fiction as much as possible and always read up, choosing people who are better than you are. A lot of learning to write is osmotic. The exposure to hundreds and hundreds of books can do more for someone than lifelong membership in a critique group.

Just looked at the photos of the new actors who will portray Lynley and Havers. They look too young! And Lynley still has dark hair. But I realize you had no control over that. How do you feel about the new series? I'm more anxious for the books. Those are "real" Elizabeth George, who can't be surpassed.
