I have an 9 year old who really wants to read this book (she is reading at least 7th grade level). Is the theme too advanced? I'd love your opinion on any advanced/troubling things in the book so I could evaluate whether she could handle it. Thank you!

I know a few 9 year olds who once they read the book, have nightmares about plagues, wars, and etc., not understanding that it is just fictional and will not entirely affect them. So, if you believe your child is mature enough to read it, you should let her. It is a great book!!! (less)
