Victoria Aveyard I've actually never met the author/read Red Rising, but it's on my shelf and I'm excited to read when I get the chance! I think Red Rising came out about a month after I finished the first draft of Red Queen. So the color red was just in the zeitgeist at that time, I guess. Honestly a coincidence!
