Ideas for most of my books usually come to me as images, especially when I have my music on. I have a lot of these images running in my mind - it's hard to explain. The images get stronger with time. The images which appeal to me most, I hold on to them. I try to create a small outline about how the story might go. And then I take the story from there as the ideas flow in.
