I enjoyed this book, but felt it was somewhat stagnant in the middle. Thoughts? How does this compare to other John Coey books?

John Corey's humor and cocky attitude always entertain me -- that's why DeMille's Corey series always receive a high rating from me. If I had to list the books in order, I'd probably put Plum Island as number one, Nightfall, then The Lion next -- I've read them all. DeMille is one of my favorite authors. I reviewed Up Country, Paul Brenner series, for our local newspaper years ago and sent the review to DeMille. He sent me the nicest letter, thanking me. He seems like an interesting and admirable fellow.

These reviews are right on. Definitely his weakest book.

I've read every DeMille novel. No question, The Lion's Game and the Lion are my two favorites. Third would be The Charm School. At the very bottom, I'd put The Panther.
