Lia Mack
Lia Mack asked M.L. Doyle:

I've read most of your books - love them! I've always wanted to know... how do you come up with your story ideas? Would you call yourself an activist in disguise? Thanks!

M.L. Doyle Lia, an activist? Interesting. The basic premise for an idea usually starts with a location. While I was in uniform we went to a lot of exotic locations and did things most "civilians" wouldn't experience. So I start with a location. The next thing I do is throw in a body. My favorite mystery author, Dick Francis always started right off with a body and I always loved that. So I copy him in that way. Ideas aren't usually the problem. Its the time to write them that causes the most hair pulling! But thanks for your question!
