Goodreads asked Kimberly Jayne:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Kimberly Jayne I don't really have writer's block. I have what I call writer's inertia, instigated by the social side of me that wants to be with people or playing at life instead. Or doing dishes. Writing is hard work, and it's sometimes difficult to make myself sit in my chair and dive in. Once I do, I'm able to immerse myself in my story world, and it's during that time that I feel I'm doing what I was called to do because it's so much fun. It's getting into the chair that can be a challenge some days.

The only time I can recall ever having "writer's block" was when I couldn't figure out how to resolve a plot hole, and so I avoided working on the story. Once I powered through that (which is simplifying the struggle that actually took place), I was very happy with the solution and was able to move forward to finish the book.
