Johna Leyva asked Cheri Gillard:

what was your idea behind Chole's watcher?

Cheri Gillard Hi Johna,
As you may know, Chloe’s Watcher is the second book in my Nephilim Redemption series, so Chloe’s Watcher was my chance to continue with the main characters of Book 1 and further develop secondary and new characters. I also got the chance with Watcher to go to World War II, which is a favorite historical time period of mine. In Book 1, Horatius is trying to find some redemption while helping Chloe (if you can call it help:) so in Book 2, I gave Panahasi, his brother, a chance for a little redemption too.

Just to give a little background on the whole series, I based the idea on an obscure, odd passage in the Bible that tells about the Nephilim, the offspring of the “sons of God” and the “daughters of man.” When I read that, I thought a Nephilim could be the perfect choice for a protagonist. Half angel and half human, he could have the traits of both and use them in his pursuit of goodness. And in the process, do things like fly out of the Time Band and enter at other times and dimensions. It was a lot of fun creating the rules of their world and letting my characters experience all that could happen in the story.

Thanks for asking!
Cheri
