Goodreads asked Elise Manion:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Elise Manion There's no real answer to this. For me, when my muse is stuck or just needs to refuel, I let her. I take a break, whether it's fifteen minutes or fifteen days. (I've never had to wait fifteen days, thank goodness!) Usually, walking away from the problem and coming back later helps me see the problem in a different light. The problem usually means I need to either revamp the scene, go in a different direction or cut it all together. Either way, the block is gone and I can move forward. Getting frustrated or worrying it like a dog with a bone never helps so I try to relax and let go.
