I've read "The Red Tent" and it really touched me! I loved the closeness of the women in the beginning of sitting in the red tent. As this is the first of your novels I have read, which novel would you recommend next for me to read?

My novels are set in such different time periods and have such different voices... it sort of depends where your interest lies or what strikes your fancy. I just visited Shechem (not the city, the adjacent mountaintop to Gerizim and Ebal). There is a sense of crossroads that one experiences looking at the city, and of course, long after Dinah's story, the Torah uses the mountains to represent choices that can result in blessing or cursing. Did geography affect what you wrote, or was it more of a psychological exploration of the characters and culture?

Will you ever write another book like "Day After Night?" I wasn't ready for the story to be over, even though I was so happy they escaped. The Jewish concentration camp life is a horror, and sometimes it isn't narrated correctly through the historical fiction genre. I would love to read more from you in this, but deeper. Could you do it? Or do you think it would be too much?
