Goodreads asked J.C. Andrijeski:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

J.C. Andrijeski I don't really get writer's block, honestly. I get story/novel/project block, however, which maybe is the same thing. Usually it means I need thinking or processing time of one kind or another to work out some aspect of the story that's stuck or "feels off" or whatever. Depending on how it hits, I might do one of several things: work on a different project for awhile, exercise, meditate, go for a walk, call a friend. Usually the key for me is to stop obsessing long enough to let the subconscious bubble up and make new connections. Sometimes brainstorming with another writer can get me there, too, even if I don't end up using any of the specific things we talked about.
