The most helpful thing for me was realizing that I can really, really benefit from thoughtful reviews from other writers. And that with social platforms like Goodreads and Wattpad and Critters.org, it's not actually that hard to find people will to trade reviews. After a couple of years of slaving alone, making this realization really helped me improve my writing quickly.
