Absolutely, we can like and root for Cime, Tempus' sister-in-arms (my personal favorite), Jihan, the widow Maldives, Mama Becho. One doesn't 'like' the witch who stalks the Stepsons, but I respect her, even when she fails; in her own heart, she's always sure she is right.
