Nanno Mulder I have no exact answer. I doubt that any significance for the story exists as far as Edwin is concerned. He seems to have no part in anything, when he is expected to be there, to break a fall with a load of hay, he fails, but no problem! The boat scene also occurs and seems to have no consequences whatsoever.
