Sigrid asked this question about Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2):
I recently finished reading outlander and I really liked it, but after reading the plot for this book and the next, and realising that the story kind of goes on 20 years later, I'm on the fence about continuing with the series. So, can someone please tell me why did Claire wait 20 years to find out weather Jamie had died or not and to go back to him?

I kind of wanted to know by the end of Book 1 whether she would stay in the 1700's or go back to 1900's. At first, I thought I was reading the wrong book too but then realized, it was a good teaser to know already that for some reason, she went back and that she could do so also. The other 1940's story had no closure anyhow so this was positive.(less)
