Goodreads asked David Lee Summers:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

David Lee Summers For me, "writer's block" is something that happens when my mind refuses to focus on the project at hand. I find I'm thinking about what I need to get at the store, or the movie I saw the night before, or something like that. If my mind is on chores, I find the best thing is to get those out of the way. The exercise helps me and I can focus better. Otherwise, I go for a walk around the neighborhood, take in the scenery, listen to some music that evokes the mood I want to create in my scene and use that as a way to focus my attention.
