That's what we loved about this book as a read aloud. My older kids (9 & 11) loved the plot and the action while my younger kids (4&6) loved the characters and were able to follow the plot.

Our daughter is five and we're loving The Green Ember. It's intense (think LOTR), and I aim for only one chapter a day, but she wants more! This book is completely addicting. :)
