Olen - while I have enjoyed all of your novels, I really liked your Yalta Boulevard Sequence. Why did Cold War Eastern Europe capture your interest? Was it difficult to research that time period? Thanks!

The bedrock of all that research was done during a Fulbright year in Romania, researching their communist period. From that I was able to use my imagination, and continuing research into the period (while living in Budapest--that helped a lot) to create my fictional country.

Hi Olen, Milo Weaver is a fantastic character, and I love reading about him. I find most of the flawed characters are generally the best. Please don't kill him off in one of your books. I have always wondered if Authors carry around a pen and paper in case you come up with an idea for your books? Thank you for writing such great books and entertaining us. Thanks Todd
