The ideas involved in this include gender equality, political issues, strong themes of suicide with suicidal characters and different ways to commit suicide, sexuality, media manipulation and propaganda. It also includes a lot of rape and sex. I'd think that anyone under the age of 18 shouldn't be exposed to these kinds of themes, nor do I think they'd be able to grasp the depth of the story on the same level that a mature adult would.
