Mary Leavitt
Mary Leavitt asked:

Is the book worth reading? I get caught up that it is an Oprah book and some times they are not that great.

Meg A very challenging story at times but gave greater insight into the gravity of sexual trafficking and abuse. Beautifully written. I took breaks for tea and reflection, returning to it's power and courageous story.
Julia Lange I enjoyed it a lot. It's definitely not for everybody, because the subject matter is tough to digest. If you're triggered by sexual abuse and violence, I would skip it.
Edgle Bennett @ mary please read this book it's so rewarding if you can push threw
it and i concur most of her pick are over the top,but she got it right with
this one.
Kim Lopez Would this count as a black history month book?
Patricia Robinson I absolutely loved this book. Yes, it was a difficult read, but so worth it. Once I finished it, I read it over again. i cannot wait to read Cynthia Bond's next book
Judy is Cynthia Bonds Ruby the first of a trilogy. If so when will the second book be published.
Loraine Despres Ruby is worth reading, first for the prose which is gorgeous. There are some slow sections, but give it a chance. It's worth it.
Caroline Check out reviews in the community reviews section, but my short answer is no, for a few reasons. I couldn't make it to page 100 and awarded it one star.
Camie This was a DNF for me. I am one of those who think Oprah really got it wrong this time. For sure I would check out the reviews before buying this. Several other people in my Bookclub have also not cared for it at all.
