Reading the reviews below, I understand that there are two parts to this story and that the first is rather slow. Unfortunately it was so slow I'll never get to the second part. I quit on page 166. I stopped and read another book before picking it up again only to quit again after a dozen more pages. Perhaps the lack of dialogue is to blame. It is hard to have conversations in a German hospital when one speaks English.(less)
