This actually really annoys me about the author.
I am not one of these people who hates love triangles. I like a good, well constructed love triangle in a YA book. I HATE how this author seems to introduce a new love interest every single freaking book... I was happy when Chaol and Celaena made progress in book two then as much as I loved book three was thoroughly disappointed when nothing happened between them and she was all for Rowan.
I just think that the author has a responsibility to the readers to make them somewhat happy haha and stay true to the relationships that got them hooked on the novel / series in the first place. There should be no more than 2 love interests (dorian / chaol) in my opinion. I am really hoping this Rowan thing stays platonic.

Well technically, it is not really her fault:
1) when she loved Sam, she was entirely faithful until he dies
2) It was sort of a love triangle in Throne of Glass, but not really; first she loves Dorian, then she loves Chaol, but at different times, and Dorian lets her go in Crown of Midnight
3) Both Chaol and Celaena let each other go
4) Only after she moves on from Chaol, does she let herself feel anything romantic towards Rowan.
And, just because you don't like the guys she likes, doesn't mean that you have to give up the entire series

To be fair I don't think Rowan and Celaena are a thing (not officially yet) More like friends and I hope it stays that way. Dorian ended with the first book very neatly and Sam well, that ..... (No tears, stop where you are). So I don't think Celaena is changing bf constantly. To add there was a good months of gap between Dorian and Celaena and even that didn't go far.

I don´t agree with you totally.
1. Celaena loves Sam. That's beyond doubt.
2. It´s true that Celaena maintains a short relationship with Dorian but I don't think it was never romantic love (at least on Celaena part). I think it was more a entertainment for her, a way of not to feel so alone and to feel loved. She loves him like a friend.
3. I think Chaol and Celaena have a connection since the first moment. It's a love that have a progress and both are stubborn people and have problems to express or acknowledge their feelings.
4. Something similar to Dorian case happens with Rowan. I judge that is not romantic love what there is between Celaena and Rowan, at least so far. In fact, there are a couple of times in HoF where Celaena specifically say that is not that what she feels toward Rowan. I don't deny that they have a strong connection but not the loverlike type.
Conclusion: I think the only two people Celaena has truly loved are Sam and Chaol. And don't bother me that there are so many male characters in the story because I deem that the history of every character with Celaena is unique and it makes me love them all of differents ways. I hope that Celaena and Chaol end up together but I love Dorian, Rowan and Aedion characters too.

It’s not like you fall completely in love with that first person ( maybe you do cause it’s your first love) but that first person doesn’t have to be whom you stay with. I mean like, Celaena changes a ton throughout the books, so to me it makes sense that her love interests change, and it doesn’t mean that she stops caring about her old love interests, she just changes and matures and her love interests chamge with her. And I mean she’s looking for the right one and she shouldn’t settle for anyone less than that

yeah, it kind of feels like she's hooking up with the people she's probably not supposed to? like dorian, when she finally accepts herself as aelin, she's technically his enemy, and then she hooks up with chaol, who just happens to be dorian's best friend. and, it doesn't end there because then she goes on to hook up with rowan, who in a way so, is technically her cousin, which i found really weird. sam felt like the only true love of hers. like, i really like the books and the story line, but this one part is just a little off-putting.

COULDN'T AGREE MORE. Celaena started with being stone cold after Sam's death and ended up dating every male person that is intrested in her. I like Celaena's character, but since she "became" Aelin she acted like she never was Celaena, and constantly saying that she has changed. When i finished Queen of Shadows i was so disappointed that Aelin and Chaol said their final goodbyes by returning the amethyst ring and the Eye of Elena to each other. Wasn't actually the final goodbye, but it was the very end of their relationship , so the readers can be sure that they will never get back together.
