Truthfully, I kind of wrote myself into a corner. ;) When I started writing the Blackberry Island books, my original plan was for it to be an ongoing series. The problem is, I made the island too small. By the time I was writing book 3, Evening Stars, I realized that I couldn't sustain a longer series on an island that small. There just wasn't enough opportunity there for diversity of careers. No industry, nothing for my characters to do that other characters hadn't already done in the earlier books.
But I love writing small-town books, so I knew I wanted to create another place with a strong sense of community. That's how Mischief Bay was born. It's a quirky beach town with a definite character all its own, but it's also close to L.A., which opens up a whole world of opportunity to my characters. Small town charm, big town amenities. The best of both worlds.
I hope you'll love The Girls of Mischief Bay, Gail!

Do you have any idea how long you will continue with the fools gold series? I hope you continue for a long while, I truly love the. And they are THE series I recommend to friends when they ask what to read next. Also do you ever come to Iowa for book signings? I would love to meet you and have my favorite author sign a book!

You said anything, so here goes. Some authors rely on other authors to write their books as time goes by, would you let that happen? It just wouldn't be the same, as I read so many books (in a week, in a month etc. I am know to read up to 20 books a month or more) so I can tell when the real author isn't writing. It just wouldn't be the same for someone to take your place,
