Brenda asked Susan Mallery:

I have read everything Fool's Gold, Blackberry Island and have pre -ordered all three new Fool's Gold CD's and Mischief Bay. When you are writing a series, do you plan out the entire character list or do you develop it as you create the story? It seems as though it would be difficult to strategize the entire character list, locations and professions.

Susan Mallery Hi, Brenda. I usually plan characters for 2-3 books at a time and have a vague idea of who’s coming the following year. For example, when I started the Fool’s Gold series, I knew Charity, Liz, Pia and their men pretty well. I knew the year 2 books would be the Hendrix triplets, but I didn’t develop their characters fully until I was writing their books.
