Goodreads asked Katherine Center:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Katherine Center I don't get writer's block too often. For me, it's usually a problem of struggling to find time to do the writing that's waiting in my head. But it has happened--usually when there's time pressure, like a looming deadline. Then my usual process of stumbling on an idea I like and then writing it down gets inverted: I'm rushing to meet the deadline and searching for an idea. It's not my favorite way to do things, but sometimes life is bossy like that. In those moments, I need to get inspired--and so I make time to read. Great ideas spark other ideas. Poetry sparks more poetry. Hearing another writer's voice on the page can inspire your own . . .
