Tammara Webber In my mind, they *are* happy. Any foreshadowing is for you, as the reader, to interpret as you wish. [This may be a weird thing for a romance author to say, but I don't see a wedding as a happy ending. It's a commitment, publicly made, but it's not an ending. The decision to commit to a relationship is the important thing (IMO), and people do that (hopefully!) long before (or without) an, "I do." When it comes to romantic fiction, everyone defines HEA differently. A first kiss, a declaration of love, a promise, a proposal, moving in together, marriage, a child, a second chance, sitting on your porch with your grandkids - all of these things can be someone's idea of an HEA, but the only true HEA is when it lasts until someone dies. If we want to be super-romantic + melodrama galore, then the couple dies together, in their sleep. ;)]
