Thanks for asking. I actually wrote Article 5 several years ago, before I read Hunger Games or Divergent, so no, her name wasn't based on those trends. She was named because an ember is the last burning piece in a fire, a metaphor for her character, but it was not a reaction to the stories you mentioned.
