My advice for aspiring writers is simple. Read and write every chance you get. Reading gives you as much writing practice, if not more, than actually writing. When you read, you can learn from the best. Write whatever you would want to read and don't give up when negativity comes in. You can't please everyone. Even Harry Potter was rejected by 5 publishers and has bad reviews.
