Linda Jamshidian asked Laura Griffin:

Loved Beyond Limits! What I love about your books is yes, the romance & attraction, the alpha males, the smart women, the push and pull...but the fact that you're one of the best at writing the action scenes, and the build up that keeps me turning those pages. Ok, enough of the a_s kissing : Plot first, or character? And a brief description of your writing routine. I'm a wannabe and I'm really interested.

Laura Griffin Hi Linda, I usually start with the character. What they do for a living typically influences the sort of story it will be. With BEYOND LIMITS, I wanted to tell the love story between Navy SEAL Derek Vaughn and FBI agent Elizabeth LeBlanc. What sort of threat would involve both of them? Also, the character is going to determine how the story unfolds. When faced with danger, is this character going to stay and fight or go into escape-and-evasion mode? It all depends on who they are, what's at stake, what motivates them. That is how I approach the story. Once I have my characters as fleshed out as possible, I put them together and see where their story takes me. Thank you for reading BEYOND LIMITS!
