A Goodreads user asked Laura Griffin:

Why does it take so long between books, and why don't publishers get people to photograph for the covers of books that actually resemble the characters in the book?

Laura Griffin Hi Norma, I know! I always think it is funny when the cover has no resemblance to the characters in the story, whether it is hair color, body type, etc... As an author, I don't usually have much input into the details of cover design, but I have been very happy with almost all of my book covers over the years (luckily). As for the amount of time between books--it varies. Sometimes as short as five months, sometimes longer. Usually that has to do with publishing schedules.
