are you satisfied with the movie adaptation of your book?

Isaac Marion I think it's a fun and clever and sometimes really touching film that was inspired by my book. I wouldn't say it captures what I was trying to do with the book--although it comes close at times--but that's okay. A book is a book and a movie is a movie and I never expected it to be a literal translation of what I wrote. I view it as a separate work with its own unique charms.

Goodreads tells me The Living is coming out in 2017. Is Goodreads lying or is that in the realm of possibility? I assumed for a while that the two books would come out closely together because of how they were written so I'm curious how the process of splitting and then publishing them has been for you.
