I like to write to music that doesn't have words. I'm a sort-of musician in my other life, and music can relax and inspire me more than anything else. Not only does the music drown out distracting noises, but it stimulates my creativity. I need music without words, because I'll stop and listen the lyrics instead of write. I play guitar a little myself, so I tend to like guitarists (rock, jazz, and blues). I have friends who are fabulous musicians and songwriters and their music can also inspire me.

I LOVE your Mackenzie series! I inhaled all the books and novellas to date in two weeks, and there are some books I just keep going back to. (omg Hart) Do you plan on writing about Old Daniel, the ancestor who was first made duke in medieval times? From the mentions of him you've given us, he seems like he might be compelling to read about, and I'd love to see how you make medieval Scotland come to life!
