Harriet Limpot
Harriet Limpot asked Laurie Halse Anderson:

When I read Speak, even though I totally had no major problem in whatever aspect of my life ever since, I genuinely felt the pain Melinda was hiding in. How does it make you feel that so many people appraise this particular piece of work you've done?

Laurie Halse Anderson One of the scary things about writing for publication is that your work will be judged. It feels incredibly nice when people tell me that my books touch their lives, or simply that they enjoy reading what I write. Not everyone loves my work, of course, but I don't love everything I read either.

Mostly, I feel incredibly lucky.
