What do you do if you have a really good idea for a novel, but you can't start it without it sounding forced?

Keep going! Sometimes you don't know where the story REALLY starts until you have the whole thing written. Especially when you're first learning to write. So just take your best guess and keep going and know that you can always go back and write a better beginning later.

This is less of a question and more of a comment. I follow lots of authors and I just wanted to say, it's super cool, because you're the only one who ever answers the questions people post. I also have a question: Do you ever get hate mail? How does it feel if you do? I would send you fan mail, but I can't because I don't think my parents will let. But I am kind of sending you fan mail right now. :) Good try right?
