Goodreads asked Bento C. Leal III:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Bento C. Leal III Teach it, then write it -- that's what I did. For non-fiction writers of how-to books, my suggestion is to: 1) teach the content and 2) then write it up. By teaching it first, you will get experience and mastery of how the content flows to real people in a live setting -- even if it's just to one or two people. You will speak in convincing, conversational language. Once you feel good about what you've said, then type it up and edit it. Then, share what you've written to a few trusted individuals for their feedback. Watch videos on YouTube on "How to Write and Self-Publish a Book" -- lots of step-by-step guidance there. Good luck!
