Goodreads asked Michael C. Goodwin:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Michael C. Goodwin The idea for my recent series of novels grew out of comments in a foreword to a book by Arthur C. Clarke, (British science fiction author). I began to develop my own story line of what had happened in this past and future history of mine intending to write a book. (This was, almost 30 years ago.) I let it sit for quite some time when, I was finally driven to start writing in 2008 after rediscovering this old bit of speculation. I brought it up to date, did a few changes in the story line and history to suit my older, changed viewpoint of the universe and began to write, I didn't stop for 6 years and now have 3 and a half books written.
