I've mentioned this before, but your writing seems deceptively simple to me...certainly a compliment. How much effort do you have to put into the writing to make it so accessible and clear?

Catherine Ryan Hyde Hi John. I think I try to make it less of an effort and more of a flow. I hope that makes sense. It seems the less I push it and the more I let it "do itself" the better things go. I also think that having written thirty or more novels (counting ones that didn't pan out) helps. Like anything else, it's all about practice.
