I wonder if the ending was intended to be deeply sad, or if it was supposed to be healing for Todd to listen to his AI construct the perfect ending to his life's story. The fact is, he died alone and unloved in his California mansion. I'm torn between loving and hating the ending. It's beautiful, but it's pure fantasy. Is there any sort of healing or redemption in how it turned out?
