I remain a wholeheartedly devoted fan. I’ve just finished Hardy Haul at Hardy Hall. Your humor is delightful. Anty is my favorite because he reminds me of Lord Peter Whimsey before Harriet, (I love post-Harriet Peter too but they aren’t the same character) but Teddy is growing on me. When will the next novel be?
P.J. Fitzsimmons
The next book is the second Teddy Quillfeather, Frauds On Favourite, and I might just as well confess now that I’m a bit behind schedule for an intended Christmas release. I still think I’m going to make it for Christmas but the target date had been the first of December.
As obvious as the parallels are, I don’t think I take much (conscious) inspiration from Lord Peter directly, but I do draw considerably from Sayers herself. I agree with you about the shift starting at Strong Poison, but I don’t know if my opinion can be trusted — I have an automatic suspicion of the mystery writer as character, which strikes me as steering dangerously close to the fourth wall.
I really appreciate your kind words, Monica, and your support. I’m also grateful for the opportunity to get in front of the story of the slipping schedule.

Hello! I’m just wondering if there are any updates on audiobooks 8 and 9 of Anty’s series? Tim Bruce has rapidly become a favorite narrator of mine. He captures everyone so perfectly and Anty’s sense of humor comes through so clearly! I’m also curious as to whether Teddy Quillfeather’s books will make an appearance on audio as well?

This is marvelous news! I saw your response a few days ago and I was thrilled but was not able to reply at the time. I'm so sorry you've been sick. I hope you are feeling better because this is definitely a milestone to celebrate. How did you get it all done in the time you promised?!!! (rhetorical question)

Tim Bruce is Anty to me and he reads each phrase as if he wrote it himself. No carefully nuanced wisecrack or witticism goes flat when read by Tim. I am so happy that he will continue as the narrator and I cannot wait until October (or sooner, I hope)! Fitzsimmons + Bruce = PURE POETRY Who needs the stress of worrying if the next narrator will understand Anty?
