Step 1: Read. A lot. I mean alot. And read all sorts of literature to start. Read medieval works, Shakespeare, the Bible, modern works. Read every piece of literature that everyone else tells you is amazing. It doesn't matter if you like it. Some of it you will hate. You want to get good language in your brain.
Step 2: Write. A lot. It doesn't matter what . Write in a journal. Write short stories, long stories, snippets of dialogue. Weird little things that you don't know what to do with. Don't worry about it being something publishable at first. Just write your heart out. This is practice. You will develop your voice.
If you do these two things, eventually you will feel in your heart what you want to say. Write this. This is your work.
