Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Chad Strong My most recent novel, High Stakes, is a Western Historical Romance set in Victoria, BC, Canada. Victoria is my home, and her history has always fascinated me. Couple that with my love of western stories, and High Stakes grew out of that. I hadn't planned on writing a "romance" per se — that aspect was to be only part of the story. But the deeper I wrote, the more important that aspect became. Nevertheless, it's still a story with a lot of action. The main character is male and the female characters are strong people as well. It's a story men don't need to be afraid of because one of its categories is "romance". It's a Western Historical with action and romance that I hope will appeal to a universal audience.
