Hello there stopping in to ask a few questions. 1) How did you come up with the idea for Blythewood? 2) Is there going to be a third if so when can we expect it? One more thing, 3) how did you pick the names for the characters?

Carol Goodman I was finishing my adult fantasy Fairwick series and wondered where my Fairwick teachers might have gone to high school. And my daughter has been doing a webcomic pennydreadfulcomics.com set in 1911 and I thought it would be fun to set a fantasy book on that period. When I knew that some of my characters would have wings I started looking for avian sounding names--like Avaline and Raven. And yes there's a third book called Hawthorn that will come out next year.
