Just do it. I am a late starter and never had the confidence of the time before. Write what you can when you can and keep everything. Do a lot of research and gather information and advice from other writers. I have to mention that being an indie publisher is very hard work and if you intend to do that as well, then start to investigate and read lots of books on the subject.
