How do you deal with writer’s block?

Rosemary Monreau Sometimes I've worked on a chapter for so long, that I can't see the forest for the trees and the chapter doesn't seem to go anywhere. I either work on the next chapter, and if that doesn't move me forward, I take a break. I intentionally don't dwell on the lack of creativity. I should add that I pray for guidance and after a week (or longer) I return to the manuscript with an open mind and trust that the writing will move ahead.
