How do you deal with writer’s block?

Mara Moody My writing stalls most when I succumb to doubt. My therapist suggested an exercise where before I sit down to write for the day, I brain dump in my journal for a fixed amount of time (5 min, 10 min, etc.) and write down all the ugly thoughts swirling through my head. It sounds strange but it works for me. I clear the decks and warm up the writing muscles all in one fell swoop. Also, did you catch it? Therapy definitely helps ;)
