Has any other reader felt a resonance with The Bluest Eye? When Lila was talking to herself in the coal cellar, and then found comfort at the movies, I couldn't help thinking of Pecola Breedlove and wondering whether Marilynne Robinson was thinking of her, too. Needless to say, Lila is a marvel of a book.
