I think we do all kinds of dumb and/or reasonable things to avoid doing what we know we're called to. I try to tell myself the truth about who I am in Christ, where my identity is anchored, and write out of that freedom. I don't always succeed. But I'm in the fight to bloody some noses before I go down.
That sounds more heroic than is probably appropriate. But writing is very hard, I think.
