Yes, authors get paid for every page that gets read in Kindle Unlimited. Of course, nothing is as good as a regular purchase, but we really value our KU readers I always tell people to read in whichever way suits their financial situation. Personally, I'm just happy that you are engaging with the books and enjoying them.

I just finished the Renegade Star series, and thoroughly enjoyed it. As much fun as the series was, Luke Daniels performance made it even better. How much input do you have on the audiobook production? Are you able to work with them to find voice actors you think would fit the feel of the book? At that point, do you get to work with the voice actor to help create the voice for each character?
